Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your MedQuizly account and everything stored with it. You can delete your account yourself, from the app or on the web, and you do not need to reinstall the app to do it. If you are unable to sign in, you can ask us to delete it for you by email. Questions: support@medquizly.com.
Delete in the MedQuizly app
- Open the MedQuizly app and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. For your security you may be asked to sign in again first. Deletion then happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Delete on the web
- Go to medquizly.com/quiz/account and sign in with the same Google or Apple account you use for MedQuizly.
- At the bottom of the Account page, choose Delete my account. Read what will be deleted, then type the confirmation word shown (for example DELETE).
- Sign in again with Google or Apple when asked. For your security, we delete an account only right after a fresh sign-in with that same account; if you sign in with a different account, nothing is deleted.
- Choose Delete my account permanently. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. You are signed out and see a confirmation page, and the copies of your data kept in that browser are removed.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to the Google or Apple account you signed up with, email support@medquizly.com from the address associated with your MedQuizly account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the request is yours and complete the deletion for you, normally within a few days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and your sign-in identity. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke MedQuizly's access with Apple.
- All of your study data: the quizzes you took, your answers, scores, starred questions, progress and history.
- Custom quizzes you imported, and the files you uploaded for them.
- Your push-notification registration, which is erased from the service we use to send notifications.
- Any active MedQuizly subscription is cancelled as part of deletion, so you are no longer billed.
- Any MedQuizly credits left in your account are forfeited. They cannot be restored, moved to another account or paid out.
This is a real, permanent deletion of your data — not just a disabled or hidden account.
What we keep, and for how long
After deletion, nothing that identifies you as a MedQuizly user remains in the app. The only exceptions are:
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records, which are no longer linked to your account.
- Standard server logs (such as IP address and request time), kept for a short period — up to 30 days — for security and fraud prevention.
- A one-way fingerprint of your sign-in, for up to 24 months. We keep a keyed hash of the email address and of the Google or Apple account ID you signed in with. It is non-reversible: your email address or account ID cannot be read back from it. We keep it to prevent abuse of free credits (for example, deleting and re-creating an account to collect them again), on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing fraud. It is not used for anything else, and it is deleted after 24 months.
None of these are used to rebuild your account or profile, and they age out automatically.
Signing up again
Because of that fingerprint, the same Google or Apple account cannot be used to sign up again on its own for 24 months after deletion. If you want to come back, email support@medquizly.com from that address and we will lift the block on request. You can also sign up at any time with a different Google or Apple account.
How long it takes
In-app and web deletions take effect immediately. Any cached copies clear shortly afterwards. An email request is completed as soon as we have verified it is yours.
